Effective date: August 6, 2026 · Version 2026-08-06
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and ChoreClub about your use of the ChoreClub app and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Short version: ChoreClub helps a shared household plan chores, split work fairly, and keep a household history. Use it for your own household, keep your account secure, be considerate of other members, and remember the Service is provided as-is. You can delete your account at any time.
Who provides ChoreClub
The Service is provided by Jan Sustr, Germany. Full provider details are in the Impressum, and questions about these Terms can be sent to the contact listed there. How ChoreClub processes personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account or using the Service you confirm that you are at least 18 and that the information you provide is accurate. ChoreClub is intended for adults; it does not offer a flow for minors to accept these Terms.
If you set up a placeholder member for someone else in your household, you are responsible for the information you enter about them. Please use a nickname or first name rather than a full legal name, and do not enter sensitive information (such as health details) about another person. Because ChoreClub has no way to contact a placeholder member, you must tell that person their information is recorded in ChoreClub and point them to thePrivacy Policy, so they can see what is held and ask for it to be corrected or removed.
Your account
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
- Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- Do not share your account, and do not use another person's account without permission.
- If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, contact ChoreClub promptly.
Households, roles and invitations
A household is a shared space that you create or join with an invite code. The member who creates a household is its owner, and owners and administrators can manage members, invitations, chores and household settings. If you invite someone, or share an invite code, you are responsible for who you invite. Content you add to a household — such as chores, assignments, completion history, reviews, reactions and comments — is visible to other members of that household as needed for the shared features to work.
Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- harass, abuse, threaten, intimidate or encourage harm against anyone;
- post hateful or discriminatory content, sexual or illegal content, or content that exploits anyone;
- share another person's private or identifying information without permission;
- post spam, deceptive or misleading content;
- submit knowingly false or abusive safety reports, coordinate reports, or use reporting to harass another person;
- break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload content that you do not have the right to share;
- attempt to access accounts, households or data that are not yours;
- probe, scan, disrupt, overload or attempt to break the security or integrity of the Service;
- reverse engineer, scrape or misuse the Service except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law; or
- use the Service to send spam or to build a competing product from its data.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create in ChoreClub. You grant ChoreClub the limited permission needed to host, store, back up, display and process that content so the Service can operate and provide its features to you and the other members of your household. You are responsible for the content you add and for making sure you have the right to add it. ChoreClub may review reports, preserve a limited evidence snapshot, remove content, restrict household access, or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms and protect users or the Service. Reports are not automatic findings, and ChoreClub reviews the available context before taking action.
Availability and changes
ChoreClub is under active development, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside ChoreClub's control. ChoreClub aims to keep the Service reliable but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
ChoreClub may modify the Service where there is a valid reason to do so: to comply with law, maintain security, prevent abuse, adapt to changed technical requirements, improve existing functionality, or discontinue functionality that can no longer reasonably be maintained. Changes will not result in additional charges unless separately agreed.
ChoreClub will tell you clearly about any such change, in the app or on the website, before it takes effect where reasonably possible. If a change materially impairs your access to or use of the Service, ChoreClub will additionally give you advance notice by email or another durable medium, within a reasonable period before the change takes effect, describing the change, when it happens, and any statutory right you then have to terminate the contract free of charge.
Disclaimers
ChoreClub provides the Service with reasonable care and skill and aims to keep it available and accurate, but does not promise that the Service will meet every requirement, be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any household record or fairness calculation is complete or accurate. ChoreClub is a tool to help organize household chores; it does not resolve disputes between household members. This section does not limit your mandatory statutory rights, including the rights that apply to digital products under German law; those rights remain unaffected.
Liability
ChoreClub is liable to you as follows:
- without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence;
- without limitation for death, personal injury or damage to health;
- without limitation under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), under any guarantee ChoreClub has expressly given, and in cases of fraudulent concealment of a defect;
- for slight (ordinary) negligence, only where an essential contractual obligation is breached — an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible and on whose observance you may reasonably rely — and in that case only for the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of agreement.
Any further liability of ChoreClub is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Your mandatory statutory rights, including rights relating to digital products, are not affected by this section and cannot be excluded in advance.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and can permanently delete your account from More > Profile > Delete account in the app, or through the account-deletion page if you cannot access the app. Deletion is described in the Privacy Policy. ChoreClub may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live still apply and are not affected by this choice of law.
Recording your acceptance
After you sign in, ChoreClub asks you to accept these Terms on a dedicated screen before you can use the Service. When you do, ChoreClub records which version you accepted and when, so both you and ChoreClub have a record of the agreement. The record is created by ChoreClub's server, not by the app on your device. If these Terms are replaced by a materially different version, you will be asked to accept the new version the next time you sign in; the previous version stays available in the version history above. This record is used to document contract formation and, where necessary, to establish or defend legal claims, and is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
ChoreClub may update these Terms when the Service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website before they take effect where reasonably possible. Where applicable law requires explicit acceptance, ChoreClub will request it before the updated Terms apply. Each version is identified by its effective date, so the version recorded against your account names the exact text you accepted; the effective date and version at the top identify the current version. Earlier versions are kept for reference:Version 2026-07-23 (archived) andVersion 2026-07-21 (archived), previously labelled Version 1.
